This is the story of the 12th Squadron / 24th Panzer Regiment from its first wartime deployment in 1943 until its dissolution in 1945.
Used at the beginning of the Second World War as a cavalry division in France, Poland and the company Barbarossa as the only non-motorized association in Russia, the division was dissolved in 1941 and converted at its own request in a tank division.
After being equipped and trained back to the Eastern Front in the winter of 1941-42, the men now had to hunt their cavalry on chains during the extraction of the Don and during the fighting in Kalach Ostrovsky Kletskaya, in the Kalmyk steppe and finally in the fight in and around Stalingrad Prove proof.
After the sinking in Stalingrad, the reorganization in France and after a short interlude in Italy from October 1943 returned to Russia, get the 12th squadron / Panzerregiment 24 under the direction of Lieutenant Horn further successes, such as the temporary defense of the bridgehead Nikopol.
