Hasso von Manteuffel was one of our most gifted tank leaders, who came into contact with the tank force very early as a professional soldier and passionate rider and, under the creator of the tank force, later Colonel General Guderian, implemented the first regulations for fast armored troops.
First as a commander of a rifle battalion, then as a regimental and brigade commander, he fought in the association of the 7th Panzer Division - the famous 'ghost division' Erwin Rommel - in the west and east. Great success was achieved under his leadership. With a fighting group he crossed the Moscow-Volga Canal at Jachroma and stood close to Moscow's gates.
This work not only honors the personality of this outstanding soldier with the Golden Wound Badge, but also presents the 7th Panzer Division and the Panzergrenadier Division, Greater Germany ”. The deeds and operations of both divisions are described by the general. The work is given its special note by one of the great tank leaders in that both divisions are brought closer to the reader in all their operations. The work includes 24 photo pages with 35 mostly large-format photos that show both Manteuffel and his fellow campaigners.
