The Leopard 2 is a main battle tanks from German production. It is built in series since 1979 and is the successor to the Leopard 1. The version A6 with longer cannon stands since 2001 in the service. The Leopard 2 tanks was originally intended as the backbone of armored forces and to defend against enemy armored units.
