Set up in the spring of 1942, the regiment fought in the Caucasus, in 1943 in Ukraine, in 1944 at Cherkassy, Kovel and east of Warsaw and in 1945 in Hungary. The volume describes with nearly 400 qualitatively high-quality photos the operational history of this probably first multinational federation of the world. It consisted of Germans, Danes, Dutchmen, Flemings, Walloons, Finns and Norwegians. The Soviets feared their discipline, their comradely cohesion and their quiet professionalism. The presentation is supplemented et al by a listing of carriers of high honors of the combat association.
